Big One and Little One

Daughterly wisdom | Brutal wit | Over a decade of tweets

by Aaron R. Dunone

About the Book

Since 2011, when Big One and Little One were just eight and six years old, small moments from everyday family life were quietly recorded in the background. What began as off‑the‑cuff observations and funny remarks gradually became a long‑running chronicle of childhood, sibling rivalry, sharp wit, unexpected wisdom and the kind of nonsense and brilliance only children can produce.

Which ovary am I from...LEFT OR RIGHT?

Now, in 2026, as the youngest reaches age twenty‑one, it finally feels like the right time to let them in on the secret. Another joyous deception revealed!

WHO DISCOVERED THE ALPHABET?

Along the way the girls were joined by a wider cast: friends, occasional guests, passing characters and the general cultural clutter of everyday life. All of them added their own colour to the background, invariably without realising they had wandered into the story at all.

I have never been so humiliated!

This book is a collection of nearly six hundred moments — the funny ones, the strange ones, the touching ones — gathered together over more than a decade of everyday life becoming unexpectedly quotable.
